At some point later this year, CM Punk is going to take part in his first UFC fight. And at that time, we'll find out how good he's really going to be inside of the Octagon. But for now, the only thing we can do is speculate about his future in the sport by looking at the first photo of him sparring with an actual MMA fighter.

The sparring session, which featured Punk going at it with his fellow fighter Craig Eckelberg, took place at the Roufusport Mixed Martial Arts Academy in Milwaukee, Wis. It looked like this:

It ended with Punk and Eckelberg taking a flick together:

And after it was over, Punk said he had a great time in a tweet that he sent out after the session:

3.

Well I just had the time of my life.

Oh, and just in case you were wondering, he also explained why he chose to wear a Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles shirt during the bout:

4.

.@NotoriousNewell only when I want to feel super awesome.

Now that Punk has his first official sparring session under his belt, we're sure there are many more to come. Stay tuned.
