Optimists of Rondae Hollis-Jefferson’s game see the next Scottie Pippen. Scouts will rue his inconsistencies on offense. His three-point and free-throw percentages are too poor for NBA teams to see the dominant end-to-end swingman that he’s capable of becoming. Hollis-Jefferson is a lockdown perimeter defender, a masterful open court dribbler and runner, and one of the tournament’s best 6-7 rebounders.
His jumper needs work though. Like with the rest of his offensive skills, he’s capable of greatness—he just tends to run hot and cold. If he can keep his shot selection in control, Arizona will advance, but if he balls out and turns into a human flame emoji, Arizona will advance really, really far. Much rides on the sophomore who’s still figuring it all out.
