During Tuesday's game between the Dallas Mavericks and Toronto RaptorsRajon Rondo and head coach Rick Carlisle got involved in an altercation which resulted in the star point guard getting benched for the remainder of the contest. With 8:10 remaining in the third quarter, Carlisle was forced to call a timeout after Rondo appeared to be ignoring him as he made his way past half-court.

As both sides made their way to their respective benches, Rondo and Carlisle could be seen shouting at one another. Their dispute nearly took a turn for the worse during the timeout as both guys nearly got into each other's faces, but assistant coach Jamahl Mosley stepped in the middle to avoid any further problems.

One day later, the Mavericks announced that Rondo has been suspended for tonight's game against the Atlanta Hawks because of conduct detrimental to the team.
