Boxing legend Muhammad Ali has taken to Instagram to dispel fears about his ill health.

The 72-year-old uploaded a smiling selfie on Saturday ahead of his beloved Louisville Cardinals taking on the Kentucky Wildcats, with a caption '#Louisville Game Day! Go Cards!'.

Fears continue to swirl about Ali's poor health. The former three-time world heavyweight champion has suffered from Parkinson's disease for 30 years and recently reports suggested that the self-proclaimed 'Greatest' was no longer able to talk or leave home.

It's not the first time we've seen a Muhammad Ali selfie in 2014.

Ali set up his Instagram profile last month but this is the first time we've seen an image of the former boxer in 2014. Previously, the feed had been used as a highlight reel for some of the most iconic moments in Ali's historic career.
