Byron Scott Said He Had a Similar Reaction to Kobe's When He Saw the Lakers Go Wild, After Win Over Celtics

Like Kobe Bryant, Coach Byron Scott wasn't thrilled with the Lakers' over-the-top celebration after beating the Celtics Sunday night.

The Los Angeles Lakers, a franchise with 16 title banners in their rafters, went nuts Sunday night after a win over the 20-32 Boston Celtics. Their over-the-top enthusiasm seemed to annoy their inured captain, who expressed his silent displeasure on Jimmy Kimmel Live! last night. Here's the video in case you missed it (fast forward to about 1:40):

The post-game celebration struck a similar chord with coach Byron Scott, who also caught it for the first time when watching Kobe's late-night appearance. Scott said he was both "very disappointed" and "angry," before elaborating:

"Kobe's reaction was pretty much my reaction when I was watching it. I was just shaking my head like, 'I can't believe this.'"

At practice this morning, Scott showed the team the footage as an exercise in public shaming:

"[I] just told them that I was disappointed in it. That's not us as Lakers. That's not how we act. It showed a lack of professionalism."

There will be no further discipline, presumably because being a member of this year's team is punishment enough.
