Russell Wilson Believes NFC Championship Game Turnovers Were All Part of God's Plan

Thankfully, he gave him a miracle, too.

Seattle Seahawks fans weren't the only ones hoping for a miracle when they saw that their team was down 16-7 with five minutes left in their game against the Green Bay Packers on Sunday. The team's Pro Bowl QB Russell Wilson believed that he'd need some help from the man upstairs if the Seahawks were going to pull out the victory, especially after the four interceptions Wilson had thrown up to that point.

However, according to a conversation Wilson had with MMQB's Peter King after the game, the QB was never worried about the outcome of the game. His turnover-prone performance was, apparently, all part of God's plan.

I found Wilson afterward, and asked him about the four picks, and going from the worst game of his life to the most exhilarating in the span of eight minutes of game time.

“That’s God setting it up, to make it so dramatic, so rewarding, so special,” he said, alone for a moment in the locker room before heading out for the night. “I’ve been through a lot in life, and had some ups and downs. It’s what’s led me to this day.”

Clearly, this is what they mean when they say, "The Lord giveth and the Lord taketh away."

Was there a higher power on Seattle's side during the championship showdown? Well, it really all depends on your beliefs. But after watching that series of miracles unfold for the Seahawks, it's hard to think that there wasn't some sort of god operating on their behalf. We're not just talking about Beast Mode, either.
