Much hoopla has been made over the fact that New Jersey governor Chris Christie has frequented Cowboys owner Jerry Jones’s private box in recent weeks. Christie, who claims he has been open about his Cowboys loyalty since he ran for governor in ’09, has taken flak from all corners of the internet because, ya know, he’s kinda a big target, and people think he should be a fan of the Giants, Eagles, or Jets. Well, maybe not the Jets.

Anyway, of course Christie was present-in his tangerine sweater, no less-alongside Jones during Dallas’ 24-20 win over the Lions in last weekend’s Wild Card game, but his owner’s box appearances started weeks earlier.

Christie sat with Jones during Dallas’ Week 15 visit to Lincoln Financial Field in Philadelphia, where the Cowboys defeated the Eagles 38-27, and clinched the NFC East title. Many in attendance, particularly Philly fans who reside in South Jersey, were unhappy with Christie, and hurled a few choice words at his box.

And according to New York Times writer Michael Barbaro, Christie was overheard saying in response, “These Philadelphia fans, they are the worst in America.”

So, not just Eagles fans, Gov. Christie? Sixers, Phillies, Union, and Flyers fans are all included? Sir?
