On Thursday, the NFL reportedly fined Marshawn Lynch $20,000 for his "crotch grab" celebration during the NFC Championship. But apparently, it's Beast Mode's turbulent relationship with the media that has the 5x Pro Bowler running a flat route off of a fiscal cliff.

According to ESPN's Adam Schefter, the NFL is considering fining Lynch "considerably more" than the $50,000 hit he's grown accustomed to for repeatedly (and hilariously) skirting the media. When you take into account the $100,000 fine Lynch paid in November, the Super Bowl's press-laden promotional circus could be especially costly for Seattle's running back.

While some might argue that Lynch's passive-aggressive relationship with soundbites are the symptoms of a pampered football star, the league's crusade against Beast Mode certainly seems personal. Less than a week after threatening to eject Lynch from a playoff game for wearing gold cleats, the NFL is putting an exponent on No. 24's fine scale. This showdown should be fun to watch, at least.
