LaMarcus Aldridge Will Postpone Thumb Surgery, Play Tonight Instead

The Portland Trail Blazers just breathed a huge sigh of relief

When Portland Trail Blazers All-Star forward LaMarcus Aldridge injured his thumb on Monday night against the Sacramento Kings, the diagnosis didn't look promising. He was told he'd suffered a radial collateral ligament tear in his left thumb, an injury that was going to require surgery, forcing Aldridge out of action for at least 6-8 weeks.

But who really needs their left thumb anyway? Certainly not Aldridge, who has decided to put off the surgery for now and continue to play for the Blazers, who after losing Robin Lopez couldn't afford to lose another big man, especially one with the abilities of Aldridge.

The Trail Blazers take on the Washington Wizards tonight, and Aldridge will be in the starting lineup. That's a pretty crazy turn of events. That sound you just heard? That was Damian Lillard breathing a huge sigh of relief.
