Cavaliers' J.R. Smith on Not Knowing Any of the Plays Yet: "When In Doubt, Shoot the Ball"

J.R. Smith has a very J.R. Smith approach to not knowing any of the plays with the Cavaliers so far.

New team, same J.R. Smith. Earlier this week, J.R. Smith (and his New York Knicks teammate Iman Shumpert) were dealt to the Cleveland Cavaliers as part of a three-way trade with the Oklahoma City Thunder. With so little time to get acclimated with how Cavs head coach David Blatt runs his offense, Smith went into tonight's game against the Houston Rockets unaware of the plays. But don't feel bad for J.R. because, according to Cleveland Plain Dealer beat reporter Chris Haynes, he has the most Swish-esque approach to this "dilemma."

1.

J.R. Smith won't know any of the plays out there tonight but he said "When in doubt, shoot the ball." He filling Dion's role already.

Unfortunately, Smith's theory didn't paid off. He went 0/5 from the field and 0/4 from beyond the arc in 18 minutes of action.

Sidebar: Hasn't this always been Smith's approach to playing offense, though?
