As he often does, Jon Stewart spoke truth to power last night, taking down the NFL in a quick-witted defense of Seattle Seahawks running back Marshawn Lynch.
Here's a few quotes, just to give you an idea of where Stewart's allegiances were aligned yesterday.
On the NFL's threat to fine Lynch $500,000 if he failed to show up for media day:
"Are you fucking kidding me? That's 'my company poured dioxin into the river' money."
On the NFL's threat to fine Lynch for promoting his personal brand by wearing his Beast Mode hat:
"Classic NFL for being more worried about what's on top of a player's head than what's going on inside of it."
Prior to his critique of the NFL's babysitting techniques, Stewart also weighed in on #DeflateGate, a controversy so ridiculously inflated by the media that Stewart had to bring in actor and author Jon Hodgman to dress up like a modern-day Paul Revere.
