After playing a road game against the Dallas Mavericks on Friday and with an afternoon contest versus the Miami Heat on Sunday, Derrick Rose could've spent his off-day on Saturday taking it easy, relaxing and just enjoying himself. But, as we have seen in the past, Rose isn't like every other NBA player. According to Instagram user itselsii, the Chicago Bulls star point guard decided to take some time out of his day to pay his respects at the funeral of someone who was more than just a Bulls fan.

Drake Adams was an AAU coach, served as a guidance counselor for the youth and as a result, he impacted the lives of many in Chicago. Rose was a family friend who, according to Drake's cousin ElSii, "supported what Drake did for the city."

The photo was accompanied by the following caption:

Our family is grieving. Our family is mourning. Derrick Rose came to the funeral for my cousin Drake... He prayed with us. He bowed his heads with us. He hugged me. He hugged us. He's such a great individual. I never thought I would become a bigger Derrick Rose fan than what I was before today.. But that has changed. He will FOREVER have my support because he had our back today. So much love. Thank you.

A lot of times, the spotlight gets shined on the wrong things that athletes do off-the-court. But we also need to focus on the good they also do, even though some of them don't do it for the media attention or public recognition.
