During their Premier League clash on New Year’s Day, Arsenal were played off the park by Southampton. The London club made the two hour drive south to St. Mary’s only to get shutout 2-0 by the hosts, with lackluster performances coming from most of the starting IX.

In particular, first-choice goalkeeper Wojciech Szczesny looked particular disinterested in the match. He was badly beaten for both Saints goals, and things didn’t get much better for the 24-year-old following the match.

Szczesny was reportedly caught smoking a cigarette in the shower, and subsequently fined $30,000 by the club for his actions.

Lighten up, Arsene, he was obviously a little hungover from his New Year’s Eve celebrations.
