2014 has been a nightmare-ish year for the NFL, as the league's moral track record has steadily grown worse with each new scandal concerning domestic violence, child abuse, or otherwise. The charges weighed against players like Ray Rice, Greg Hardy, and Adrian Peterson have been completely reprehensible; however, when criticizing the league, on-lookers have also been sure to hold NFL commissioner Roger Goodell accountable for his stubborn, dim-witted approach to player discipline.

Goodell hasn't been catching flack from just the media pundits and armchair quarterbacks of the world, either. Today, while on-the-air with ESPN's Colin Cowherd, President Obama discussed the state of the league, delivering words of reproach for the NFL's clumsy mishandling of the Ray Rice fiasco:

Can someone remind us why Goodell is still in charge of the NFL? It may be time for the President to announce another executive order.
