First, it was Derrick Rose, the Browns' Johnson Bademosi and Reggie Bush. Now, LeBron James, Deron Williams, Kyrie Irving, Kevin Garnett, Jarrett Jack and Alan Anderson have decided to wear a shirt emblazoned with the tragic last words uttered by Eric Garner to the member of the NYPD who used a chokehold that would eventually kill him.

Per For The Win

“I think it’s really important that we show our respect to the families,” said Irving in the locker room before the game. “More importantly we’re in the city where tragedy happened and it’s really important to us that we stand up for a cause, especially this one. It hits close to home and means a lot to me.”

According to Yahoo's Adrian Wojnarowski, NBA commissioner Adam Silver would prefer for the players to "abide by our on-court attire rules," but he also respects "Derrick Rose and all of our players for voicing their personal views on important issues."
