Darren Sharper Indicted on Federal Charges

Darren Sharper was indicted on federal charges Thursday in addition to rape charges he was already facing.

Last week, we told you that former All-Pro safety Darren Sharper was facing Louisiana state charges stemming from rape allegations for assaults that took place in February and September of last 2013. Now, in addition to those legal troubles which were already substantial (dude is facing life), Sharper is also facing federal charges, not for the rapes, but for the drugs Sharper allegedly slipped into victims' drinks to precipitate the sexual assaults.

In federal court, Sharper will be facing charges of one count of conspiracy to distribute Zolpidem, Diazepam and Alprazolam with intent to commit rape. On top of that, he's facing two counts of the actual distribution of them with intent to commit rape.

If you haven't kept up with the case, Sharper is accused of raping women in three different states (Arizona, California and Louisiana). There's also an active investigation currently underway in Nevada.
