It's hard to think of a winning team's quarterback in recent history that got less respect than Brian Hoyer, right?

Despite leading the Browns to a 7-5 record and putting them in the thick of the playoff hunt, Hoyer continues to see people like Drake call for him to be benched in favor of rookie Johnny Manziel, and apparently now the Browns are ready to move on from him completely once the season is over. ESPN’s Adam Schefter is reporting that Cleveland will likely let Hoyer walk when he hits free agency this summer, turning the keys over to Manziel and ushering in a new era in Browns football.

The 29-year-old Hoyer has had a solid season in his first year as a full-time starter, throwing for just over 3000 yards in 12 games with 11 touchdowns and 10 interceptions. He’s been pretty bad of late (0 TDs and 5 INTs in the last two games, and was benched for Manziel during last week’s loss), however, which has likely punched his ticket out of town.
