Romo was hurt on Monday night when Washington’s Keenan Robinson kneed him in the back on a sack, although the quarterback did receive a painkilling injection and later returned to the game. However, Romo suffered two fractures to his transverse process, a small bone in the lower back, and will not be able to give it a go today.
Brandon Weeden will get his first start for the Cowboys after looking strong in relief of Romo last week, going 4-of-6 passing for 69 yards and a touchdown. Today he’ll face an ideal opponent in Arizona, who ranks 27th in the NFL in total pass defense and surrenders an average of 303 passing yards per game.
