Yesterday, at the Tel Aviv Derby (which is a soccer match between Hapoel Tel Aviv and Maccabi Tel Aviv, as if you didn't know) a shirtless fan hopped onto the pitch in some sort of reverse-Ron Artest move. The idea (which was almost certainly fueled by alcohol) was to throw down with Maccabi's Eran Zahavi. The catalyst to the fight was a goal scored by Zahavi (who used to be a member of Hapoel) that tied the game in the 22nd minute. After that the insane passionate fan rushed him, swung wildly, made an awful attempt to kick, and eventually inspired several other fans to follow suit. The contest was suspended, and will also probably help maintain the image (fairly or unfairly) that soccer fans on the other side of the Atlantic are nuts.
