This should probably go without saying, but if you're thinking about running up on Johnny Manziel and trying to hug him, don't. Just don't.

A 33-year-old Ohio man named Chris Gonos reportedly learned that lesson the hard way late Friday night when he spotted Manziel and his crew at a hotel called The 9 in Cleveland. According to a police report, the man—who was with his girlfriend at the time—approached the Browns quarterback and said, "I'm the biggest Browns fan ever. I love you. I want to give you a hug." However, as the man inched closer to Manziel, someone who was with the NFL star allegedly punched him in the face and gave him "a swollen lip."

Cleveland Scene reached out to The 9 to try and get a comment from them about the alleged incident, but the resort refused to confirm or deny the attack. However, they did speak to Gonos about it, and he explained what happened.

"We had a room—it was my brother's birthday—so we were staying at the Metropolitan at the 9," he said. "We partied there, and at the end of the night, I was going back up to my room, and I noticed the guy. I was like, 'Man, that's Johnny Manziel.' They were trying to keep it quiet, keep it low, and I was like, 'Johnny Football!' I was just excited. But anyways, I went to give him like a handshake or dap or whatever you want to call it [and] one of his buddies tackled me. It was going down, a whole bunch of people started fighting. It ended pretty quick."

Gonos also claimed that his brother "ran and tackled Johnny Manziel" before "Johnny sucker punched him while the security guard was holding him." And he said that the incident "should all be on video."

Cleveland Scene also reached out to the Browns, who revealed that they "are in the process of gathering additional information" about the allegations at this time. Stay tuned to see how the Browns decide to handle Johnny Football's latest off-the-field incident.
