Boston Bruins rookie forward Seth Griffith is off to a promising start in the NHL. The 21-year-old Canadian has four goals in 12 games this season, and last night he scored what’s already being hailed as a goal of the year contender.
In the second period, with the Bruins tied 2-2 with the visiting New Jersey Devils, Griffith blocked a blast from Devils captain Bryce Salvador, and raced up ice with the puck.
Defenseman Marek Zidlicky caught up with the Bruins’ youngster-and appeared to have him blocked off-but with his back to goal, Griffith put a shot first through his own legs, then through the five-hole of New Jersey goalie Cory Schneider. Just watch this piece of skill in all its glory, above.
Oh, and the Bruins would go on to win the game 4-2, in case you were wondering.
