Michael Beasley's NBA career is officially over. At least for now.

Beasley—who signed a non-guaranteed contract with the Grizzlies recently—has decided to leave Memphis in order to play for the Shanghai Sharks of the Chinese Basketball Association. The financial terms of his deal with the Sharks haven't been announced just yet. But according to Yahoo! Sports, Beasley's chances of making the Grizzlies' final roster were slim, so he decided to sign with the CBA team owned by Yao Ming rather than taking his chances with Memphis.

Beasley will be required to stay with the Sharks until March when the CBA season ends. After that, he will be eligible to return to the NBA, if he can find a team that's willing to sign him.
