Lil Jon Is the New Face of Tennessee Football

At the moment, Lil Jon's face is painted on "The Rock" that sits on the campus of the University of Tennessee. And why is his face painted there? Well, it seems that, over the course of the last week or so, Lil Jon has turned into the Volunteers football program's No. 1 fan.

It actually started earlier this season when, according to SB Nation, the Tennessee football team started playing Jon's hit "Turn Down For What" whenever an opposing team was facing a third down. Watch the video below to hear the song playing during a Tennessee game against Utah State:

Eventually, Lil Jon got wind of what the Volunteers were doing and reached out to them on Twitter. And on Wednesday, he decided to throw all of his support behind the Tennessee program by officially ushering in the #ThirdDownForWhat era:

Ever since then, Jon and the Volunteers football program have been going back and forth on Twitter. It led to someone on the Tennessee campus painting Jon's face on the historic "Rock":

So what's next? We'll just have to wait and see. But Michigan State really hit their stride last season once they embraced Rich Homie Quan and his hit song, "Type of Way." So maybe that's what the Volunteers are going for here?
