Much has been made of the recent shade thrown at Kobe Bryant, as well as his response to those criticisms. First, ESPN.com ranked Kobe 40th among active players going into the 2014-15 NBA season, to which Kobe responded by calling those folks “idiots,” and then ESPN’s Henry Abbott published a story in which several sources claimed that no free agents wanted to come to L.A. and play with Kobe.

Well, today on SportsCenter, Lakers president and Governor Jeanie Buss had a few choice words for those supposed free agents. Buss stated that anyone who is scared of coming to the Lakers because of Kobe’s ego is “probably a loser,” and she wouldn’t want to employ such players, anyway. Shots fired.

Buss then addressed the possibility that someone within the Lakers’ organization might have leaked information to Abbott for his article. “If there is somebody that’s on our payroll that is saying things like that, I will soon get to the bottom of it and they won’t be working for us anymore.”

Here’s what we learned today: If you see Jeanie Buss walking towards you on a sidewalk, cross the street immediately.
