We're not sure how the hell it happened, but today we found out that Rajon Rondo had been suffering with a broken hand. Today he had surgery, with his return to the court appearing roughly six weeks away. That means he should be eyeing a comeback around mid-November, or (stated another way) around the time the Celtics are 0-6. It sounds like the worst case scenario would be closer to eight weeks (see: Thanksgiving), at which point the Celtics could be mathematically eliminated from postseason contention.

We'll update this post if more information becomes available.

Update: We could type the update, or we could just embed the tweet.

UPDATE: Rajon Rondo broke his hand when he slipped in the shower last night and hit it on the wall.

Maybe it's an omen, though we'll take it as a PSA. Remember, shower awareness isn't limited to prisoners.
