Pro golfer Greg Norman has made a ton of money during his career. But that doesn't mean that he pays people to do all of his chores for him. Just last week, he put up this photo of him trimming a tree in his yard with a chainsaw on Instagram:

"Never ask someone to do something that you can do for yourself," he wrote on Instagram. "Love to work!"

Norman's love for work almost resulted in a tragedy recently, though.

Norman was trimming another tree outside of his South Florida home over the weekend when one of the branches fell awkwardly and accidentally pushed his chainsaw back into his left hand. The blade struck him in the arm and, although Norman wasn't running the chainsaw at full speed, it still did some serious damage. Fortunately, it didn't hit any major arteries. But the freak accident did force Norman to take an emergency trip to the hospital.

"Thank God the blade wasn't running full speed or it would have taken my hand off," he said later. "I handled everything as calmly as I could. There is no major damage. There is nerve damage but no muscular damage. They fixed me up and here I am."

Norman posted this photo to Instagram after being admitted to the hospital:

He also posted a message for his fans. "Working with a chainsaw ALWAYS be respectful of the unexpected," he wrote. "I was a lucky man today…Still have left hand."

We're glad Norman is OK but damn! Think he'll start hiring someone to help him out with his yard work from now on?
