The Derek Jeter narrative couldn't have worked itself out more perfectly. With the New York Yankees up by a comfortable 5-2 lead, it seemed as though we had seen the last time Jeter would go through his motions in the batter's box. Then, in the top of the ninth inning, the Baltimore Orioles came storming back to tie it up at five, giving The Captain one more chance to create one more memory for the Yankee faithful.

With the game-winning run on second base, Jeter did what Jeter does best: hit the ball to the opposite field. In his last at-bat in the only place he called home, Jeets was clutch once again.

What a way to cap off his career in pinstripes. It was an amazing ride, Captain.
