This weekend made us forget about that drab international break pretty quickly.
It was an outstanding weekend in Serie A, where AC Milan and Parma put together an early contender for game of the season with the Rossoneri eventually prevailing 5-4. Jeremy Menez set Twitter on fire with a goal that can only be described as 'cheeky' and not to be outdone, Parma re-invented tiki-taka.
There were also must-see goals from the oddest corners of European football including efforts from the third tier of German football, the Belgian Pro League and Poland's equivalent to League Two.
All this makes Match of the Day's 'Goal of the Month' contest look a little dry.
