Back in 2009, LeBron James decided to switch from No. 23 to No. 6 out of respect for Michael Jordan. "It's time," James said. "He's the best basketball player we've ever seen. Mike does it on the court and off the court. If you see 23, you think about Michael Jordan." LeBron even thought that the NBA should retire the number. Luckily for 'Bron, the league didn't follow through on that request because The King is heading back to Cleveland and he's also going back to rocking the 2-3.
So, what does Jordan think of James taking back the number that he fought so hard to get retired? In a text message to ESPN's Chris Broussard, MJ kept it short and sweet, saying, "I'm cool with it. I don't own a number.''
Then, Mike said, "He could've even kept No. 6 because this is the only '6' I care about" and then proceeded to do this:
1.
Okay, we kid, we kid about that last comment. But seriously, how great would that have been?
