Remember when Cavaliers owner Dan Gilbert responded to LeBron James leaving Cleveland back in the summer of 2010 by writing a letter to Cavs fans that featured him taking a series of shots at King James? Ha. Of course you do. How could you forget this?
For four years, that letter has been posted on the Cavs' official website in all its Comic Sans glory. But a short time ago, the letter disappeared. ESPN's Brian Windhorst noticed it first:
For 4 years, Dan Gilbert's letter after LeBron's decision has been on team website. It appears it was removed today: http://t.co/O256mqVtNs— Brian Windhorst (@WindhorstESPN) July 7, 2014
So why did the Cavs decide to take it down? We're guessing they finally realized it was tacky. Oh, and also, they're trying to sign LeBron and convince him to come back to Cleveland right now. And that letter was obviously not something they'd want to have him see.
So yeah, no more letter. Think it'll help them sign their man?
