Taxi drivers throughout Europe have declared war on Uber. Upset by the app taking over, thousands of cabbies protested by blocking streets from London to Lyon and Madrid to Milan. They say Uber doesn't comply with local rules or have to pay the same taxes.

Unfortunately for the protesters, their actions may have actually helped Uber. The company says it had an 850 percent jump in new users compared to last Wednesday. Meanwhile Uber offered 50 percent discounts in Paris and Lyon, France.

It doesn't look like Uber is going anywhere soon but up.
