Derek Jeter is still suiting up for the New York Yankees (almost) every day. But sometime in the not-so-distant future, he's going to have to find something else to do every day, since he's retiring at the end of current MLB season. And Jeter already has something in mind—he wants to own a team.

"That's the next goal," he said during a dinner for his Turn 2 Foundation in New York City last night. "Calling the shots, not answering to someone, that's what interests me."

Jeter also said that if he does end up owning a team, he won't be anything like former Yankees owner George Steinbrenner.

"I'd probably be a little bit more behind the scenes than the Boss," he said. "But I learned a lot of things from the Boss."

We'll have to see if that actually translates into him owning a team once his playing days are done.
