Aided by goals from Clint Dempsey and John Brooks, the USMNT defeated Ghana, 2-1, in its first game of the 2014 FIFA World Cup. The team, however, was not without its fair share of setbacks. Jozy Altidore suffered a hamstring injury in 22nd minute and, at time of print, his status for return is still unknown. Shortly thereafter, Dempsey caught a kick to the face and spent the remainder of the game struggling to breath. That said, Group G was branded as the "group of death" for the United States, but Monday night's win is an encouraging first step on the road to the Round of 16. For more on this game, we turned to soccer analyst/distinguished member of the '94 World Cup team Cobi Jones.
