The full UFC 175 card will be missing one of its marquee fights, as Chael Sonnen has failed a drug test and will not fight Vitor Belfort on July 5.

Sonnen had been randomly tested last month by the Nevada State Athletic Commission, and those tests turned up positive for anastrozole (a breast cancer drug) and clomiphene (a female infertility drug). Sorry, Chael, we don’t believe you’ve got either of those illnesses.

In 2008, though, Sonnen had been diagnosed with hypogonadism, a disorder that lowers a man’s testosterone levels. He had been undergoing testosterone-replacement therapy, a practice which was banned this past February in Nevada due to its potential performance-enhancing effects.

For the 37-year-old Sonnen, this suspension may end a career filled with a lot of wins and even more questions about his testosterone. It’s never a good sign for legacy when all people can talk about when they hear your name is science; just ask Barry Bonds.
