Boris Diaw is a lord. Between him and Kawhi Leonard, the Spurs have looked like they barely need those guys named Duncan, Parker, and Ginobili. Last night, Diaw put up 8 points, 9 rebounds, and 9 assists while playing as a power forward all night. Frankly, there aren't many genuine power forwards who can pull that off (David West comes to mind). His interior passing has made him a match-up nightmare for the Heat.
The highlight of Diaw Ming's night was this nasty behind-the-back pass to a cutting Tiago Splitter. Diaw correctly posted-up a smaller Dwayne Wade before finding Splitter once help came. Yeah, it's lazy-ass defense from the Heat—Chris Bosh's help defense was in slow motion and nobody rotated down onto Splitter (LeBron kind of just stands there in shock/horror as Bosh slouches over to Diaw)—but the class and vision on the pass was typical from the Spurs.
The Heat will try to live another day on Sunday night at 8 PM EST in San Antonio.
