Prior to the start of the 2014 Western Conference Finals, the Thunder revealed that Serge Ibakawould not play in the team's series against the Spurs because of a calf injury. But they are singing a much different tune at the moment.
According to the team, Ibaka has now been listed as "day to day" and could conceivably play in Game 3 of the WCF or at some point later in the series. Nothing is definite yet. But Ibaka has gone through some drills with the team and might be ready to make a comeback.
"At present, Serge has yet to complete a full basketball workout but is walking and doing light basketball drills," Thunder general manager Sam Presti said a short time ago through a statement. "With this new information, and in an effort to keep his status current, we are now listing him as day to day with the understanding that there is a possibility for him to play in this series."
How happy does that make you if you're a Thunder fan? Hell, how happy does that make you if you're an NBA fan? This Spurs/Thunder series might finally be a series!
Stay tuned to see if Ibaka will actually return to the Thunder lineup.
