Today in a brawl for the Los Angeles Dodgers AAA affiliate (The Albuquerque Isotopes) teammates Miguel Olivo and Alexander Guerrero got into a fight in the dugout with the catcher Olivo tearing a piece of Guerrero's ear off.

Part of Dodgers prospect Alex Guerrero's ear displaced by bite in altercation w/ teammate Miguel Olivo, agent Scott Boras tells @FOXSports.

The bite was so vicious that Guerrero has to get plastic surgery. With no current timetable for a return.

Alex Guerrero is having plastic surgery on his ear right now, Scott Boras said.

As a 35-year-old aging vet we don't think that biting the ear of an international signee and prospect is going to be the best way for the 35-year-old Olivo to stick with the organization. We'll let you know if we hear anything find out more.

Update: According to Sting 'Em Bees (a blog covering the Salt Lake Bees) the fight occurred over defensive "laziness" on behalf of the Isotopes. Infielders (Guerrero is a Second Baseman) weren't holding runners on, and no one was alerting Olivo when runners were going. So the veteran did the only logical thing and bit a chunk of one of their ears off.

We also added a couple of pictures of the melee up top.
