Golden State isn't afraid to cut out the fat when it wants to, even when there's six games left until the playoffs. Assistant coach Darren Erman has been fired just two weeks after the Warriors reassigned Brian Scalabrine.

While Scalabrine has been assigned to the Development League because of what Mark Jackson calls a "difference in philosophies," Erman is gone for what sounds a bit more serious. Apparently he committed "a violation of company policy."

"Obviously, the timing is unfortunate, but we hold all of our employees, whether in basketball operations or other aspects of the business, accountable for their actions and to the same standard," said General Manager Bob Myers. "We move forward and thank Darren for his contributions."

So no White Mamba magic and no Erman for the next few games. Will anybody see the difference?
