Earlier this week, audio of LeBron Jamesrapping over Jay Z's hit "F**kWithMeYouKnowIGotIt" last summer was released by TMZ Sports. And when we heard it, we were actually pretty impressed. LeBron isn't the next Hov or anything. But as far as rapping NBA players go, King James wasn't bad at all.
Judging by some of the comments our readers left on our post about LeBron's song, though, not everyone agreed with us. But there was one rapper who heard LeBron rapping and did. That rapper? None other then Game. He spoke with TMZ Sports about the "F**kWithMeYouKnowIGotIt" verse and revealed that he thinks LBJ is "better than 88 percent of rappers rapping right now."
"First time I heard the song, I thought the first guy [LeBron's close friend/aspiring rapper Sian Cotton] was fly," Game said. "He was snapping a little bit and then LeBron came on and I was like, 'Ummm, shit…aight.' The thing is, he ain't as polished as expected—but no one is like the God MC on their first rap. I've heard a lot worse from CDs and on iTunes and shit from real artists."
Okay, okay, so "I've heard a lot worse" isn't exactly the most glowing review in the world. But given some of the reaction he's received from other people, we're sure LeBron will take it.
Listen to the song one more time and let us know if you've come around to the idea of LeBron rapping.
