This could be trouble for the Baltimore Raven.

Ray Rice's offseason just got a little bit worse.

It wasn't totally unexpected. But earlier today, a grand jury indicted the Baltimore Ravens running back on a third-degree aggravated assault charge for allegedly hitting his fiancée Janay Palmer at the Revel Casino and Hotel in Atlantic City, N.J. last month. His attorney Michael Diamondstein spoke a short time after the indictment and was adamant about the fact that his client is not guilty of assault.

"On behalf of Ray Rice, we vehemently deny that Mr. Rice committed an aggravated assault," he said. "Both Mr. Rice and Miss Palmer are together, they are happy and they're in counseling."

That's all well and good. But now, Rice's lawyer is going to have to try and prove that Rice isn't guilty of assault in a court of law. What a way to spend an offseason.
