On Feb. 25, the Huffington Post published a column written by Rashard Mendenhall where the running back hints at the idea of calling it quits. In the article, Mendenhall said,  "As I write this, today is the day that the journey is over and I am fully at peace. Eagerly looking to a new way, which lies ahead." Given the fact that Mendenhall is still in his mid-20s, it seemed a little far-fetched to think that Rashard would hang up the cleats for good. However, the 2008 first round pick by the Steelers has reportedly informed teams that he is indeed going to retire from the NFL. At the conclusion of the 2013-14 season, Mendenhall told Cardinals head coach Bruce Arians that "he wanted to write books and do different things than play football."

Good luck on wherever life takes you next, Rashard!
