Over the last year you could argue Pharrell has been showing more love to BMX than he has skateboarding. He and Nigel Sylvester have become tight, starting a bike company together and even rolling up to the VMAs with a mob of riders. Now they're back together again to discuss BMX culture with Red Bull in Los Angeles.

While talking about riding bikes throughout his childhood, Skateboard P drops a classic Pharrellism: "It was more out of function than it was about frontin'." Together, Pharrell and Nigel say they want to eliminate the misconceptions about what BMX riders are like. Sylvester is well documented as an "unconventional" BMX rider, but that shouldn't matter. Make sure you watch the entire interview above.

Oh, and the infamous ranger hat makes an appearance, too.
