Chip Kelly can't recruit guys that fit well into his offense anymore like he used to do at Oregon. But the Eagles head coach can orchestrate trades for them, which is exactly what he just got done doing.
According to ESPN's Adam Schefter, Philadelphia has traded a fifth-round draft pick to the Saints in exchange for Darren Sproles, who went on the trading block earlier this week after New Orleans reportedly received a handful of calls from GMs around the league about him. Sproles will join a backfield in Philly that includes LeSean McCoy, Bryce Brown, and Chris Polk. And he'll be a part of an offense that seems to fit his style of play perfectly.
On a related note, we bet that Sproles' wife is very happy now that her husband is out of New Orleans. It's been a long week, but Sproles has landed in a good place for him.
