The 2014 Formula 1 season looks to be a tumultuous one for many teams on the grid, but for the first time in years, Williams looks to be ahead of the pack. The current program, now known as Williams Martini Racing, features the new shaken-not-stirred title sponsorship and backing from Esquire Magazine – a godsend for the team that looked mightily cash strapped last season.

Money can’t win races, but this year’s FW36 looks to be in good condition to do just that. The switch over to Mercedes engines has served them well so far. The team completed testing relatively unscathed, topping the timesheets on the final day thanks to quick driving from Felipe Massa. The Brazilian joined the team over the winter after losing his seat at Ferrari. He’ll be happy to see Ayrton Senna’s brand new decal on the front wing as well. His Brazilian countryman and idol lost his life at Imola in a Williams car, exactly 20 years ago. This could be the season for redemption.
