There are a lot of really great NFL stadiums scattered all over the country. But the Minnesota Vikings' home stadium, the Hubert H. Humphrey Metrodome, was not one of them. So yesterday, the Vikes made room for a brand-new $1 billion stadium by slapping a bunch of sticks of dynamite on the Metrodome and officially bringing it down. Er, or at least part of it down.
