As we told you earlier today, the conditions of a lot of the hotel rooms that were built specifically for the 2014 Winter Olympics in Sochi are not good. Some of them appear to be unfinished. Others are missing key pieces of furniture. And, well, it looks like somebody forgot to do their job with regards to making sure the hotels were in good shape prior to this week.

That somebody is Dmitry Kozak, the deputy prime minister of Russia. He was in charge of making sure that all Olympic preparations went smoothly. And according to him, they did go smoothly. But he believes that there are certain members of the media who are creating #SochiProblems in order to make Russia look bad. He knows this because he claims to have seen surveillance videos of people creating problems in their rooms.

"We have surveillance videos from the hotels that shows people turn on the shower, direct the nozzle at the wall, and then leave the room for the whole day," he told a reporter earlier today.

Ohhhhh. That makes sense. And Kozak can prove this because he has surveillance footage of people in their hotel room bathrooms who are...wait, WHAT?!? THERE ARE CAMERAS INSIDE OF PEOPLES' HOTEL ROOM BATHROOMS?!

Sigh. Kozak's aide pulled him away before he could say anything else about the surveillance cameras. But if you weren't already worried about how things are going to go in Sochi during the Olympics, now is the time to start worrying. What a mess.
