Shaun White Wasn't Joking About that Slopestyle Event Being Dangerous (Video)

In this case, do believe the hype.

Shaun White was criticized by a few fellow Olympic snowboarders after he pulled outof the slopestyle event, even though he reasoned that he doesn't want to risk re-injuring his wrist in the course's dangerous conditions. If you're watching the event and you're thinking, "WTF is he talking about? This is easy," it's not. Just look at what happened to world class Czech Republic snowboarder Sarka Pancochova.

The fall above may not look crazy to some people at a glance, but don't forget the snow can just be hard as life in those Sochi hotels. Just ask her helmet, which cracked in the fall:

It was a gnarly sight, but thankfully it was just that. Panchochova was fine after the crash as US rider Jamie Anderson took home gold in the event.
