Or, "that black football player who recently came out."

After receiving $75 million in funding for a brand new TV show, Paula Deen is attempting to fix her image after the racist allegations made against her last year. But, so far, it looks like she can't seem to make things right. In a recent interview with People, Deen spoke on her recent struggles and the assumptions made about her going forward, and she made a...uh...questionable comparison to Michael Sam

“I feel like ‘embattled’ or ‘disgraced’ will always follow my name. It’s like that black football player who recently came out,” Deen said, according to TheWrap.com. “He said, ‘I just want to be known as a football player. I don’t want to be known as a gay football player.’ I know exactly what he’s saying.”

Oh, really? Maybe Paula didn't know Sam's name at the time, but her "that black football player who recently came out" statement just makes us feel uncomfortable. And, you know what else makes us feel uncomfortable? Deen comparing herself to Michael? Paula may want to just stop doing interviews altogether...for, like, forever.
