The NBA Doesn't Want the Knicks to Make a Dumb Deal Before the Trade Deadline Tomorrow

Iman Shumpert-for-Darren Collison? Nah.

Over the course of the last decade or so, the New York Knicks have made some really dumb moves. They've signed guys that they shouldn't have signed. They've traded for guys that they shouldn't have traded for. And they've made front-office decisions that no one outside of the Knicks would make. And it appears as though they might be getting ready to make another one of those moves right now.

The Knicks want to add some offensive firepower to their lineup to compliment Carmelo Anthony. And their latest bright idea involves them trading away Iman Shumpert in exchange for—drumroll, please!—Darren Collison. Underwhelmed? Um, yeah. Us, too. Collison isn't a scrub, but he's also not the answer to the Knicks' problem.

So when the news about the possible Shumpert-for-Collison deal hit Twitter earlier today, there were a lot of people who were against it. One of those people was Grantland writer Zach Lowe, who had this to say:

And believe it or not, Lowe got an "Amen!" from one of the most unlikely sources. Whoever runs the NBA's Twitter account tweeted at him (accidentally?) one minute after he sent out his tweet. The tweet has since been deleted, but you can see it here:

Lolz, Knicks! Has it come to this? Even the league is laughing at you?! You can't do the Shumpert-for-Collison deal now. Because if it doesn't work out—and it probably won't—even people within the league offices will mock you. SMH.
