People leave all sorts of really weird things in rental cars. A quick Google search reveals that renters have left everything from dead fish to used condoms in rental cars when they have returned them in the past. But recently, Lauren Tannehill—the wife of Dolphins quarterback Ryan Tannehill—left something even stranger than those items in a rental car when she returned it.

In early January, Tannehill rented a Nissan Rogue from a rental car company in south Florida. But shortly after she returned it, the next person who rented the car out discovered an AR-15 rifle in the back. The person called police about it and, sure enough, the gun was registered to Ryan Tannehill and had been left in the rental car on accident.

The Tannehills have yet to comment on the gun and referred to the incident as a "personal matter" when the Sun-Sentinel reached out to them yesterday. But a Broward County police spokeswoman did reveal that the Tannehills won't get into any trouble as a result of Lauren leaving the gun in the rental car.

"Though dangerous if it would have landed in the wrong hands," the spokeswoman said, "it's not criminal."

It is crazy, though. How do you forget a gun that big in a rental car?!
